Wake Up Middle America!

It's all your fault! All you SUV-driving, latte-sipping, soccer-kid shuttlers out there! You brought us to this mess, now you're gonna pay, and your kids are gonna pay, and your kids' kids are gonna pay.

This from the Associated Press in an article where they outline the juicy details of the stimulus plan:

Highways repaved for the first time in decades. Century-old waterlines dug up and replaced with new pipes. Aging bridges, stressed under the weight of today's SUVs, reinforced with fresh steel and concrete

Oh, the shame. And here I thought all those 18-wheelers were heavier than an SUV. Thank you, AP, for educating us on the evil SUV forces that destroy our bridges and highways.

In His Own Words....

"I don't want to pretend that today marks the end of our economic problems. Nor does it constitute all of what we have to do to turn our economy around. But today does mark the beginning of the end," the president said.

They're Dropping Like Flies!!

Daschle Withdraws:

Former senator Tom Daschle came under scrutiny over failure to pay $140,000 in taxes
SOURCE

UN-BE-LIEVABLE!!

If our so-called 'leaders' can't figure out how to pay their taxes (Okay, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here that they simply 'forgot' or 'didn't know') why do they expect us to be able to wade through the quagmire of tax rules and regulations and pay our taxes?

"But Ms. Killefer, 55 years old, failed to pay employment taxes on household help for a year and a half, the Associated Press reported. In 2005, the AP said, the District of Columbia filed a $946.69 tax lien on her home for failure to pay the unemployment compensation tax." SOURCE

Apparently, it was an error that was corrected in five months. Where's the outcry by women??

The woman with a $900 tax problem (and a conscience) withdraws her appointment. Meanwhile, the three stooges with a $100,000+ tax debt each (Rangle, Daschle and Geitner) aren't withdrawing or resigning. And their tax debt didn't come to light and was not corrected until the vetting process.
